It is estimated that more than a hundred trillion microorganisms are present in the human gastrointestinal tract! The gut microbiome in humans varies functionally and taxonomically in each section of the GI tract as well as varying in the same person with age and environmental factors. The diverse microbiome in the digestive tract serves to functionally expand the host (human) genome by providing codes for various types of enzymatic proteins that facilitate the host’s metabolism and physiology.

In addition to Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, our new formulation of ProbZyme features Lactospore® which is a strain of Bacillus coagulans MTCC 5856 bacteria, a spore-forming, short-chain fatty acid (butyrate) and lactic acid producing strain. Lactospore® is shelf-stable, survives in stomach acid and bile secretions, is non-GMO and organic. Lactospore® may reduce abdominal pain associated with IBS, improve mood symptoms associated with IBS, and relieve bloating, gas, and diarrhea.
